UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Mateo Amaya Montoya

6th year - Internship

Mateo in his own words:

“One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't throw it away.”
- Stephen Hawking

Allison Astrid Cárdenas Mojica

6th year - Internship

Allison Astrid in her own words:

“Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin, more even than death. Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habits; thought is anarchic and lawless, indifferent to authority, careless of the well-tried wisdom of the ages.
Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid ... Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man.”  ― Bertrand Russell

Daniel Ruíz Manco

Daniel in his own words:

“I’m Daniel, I enjoy sports and music. I complement them with curiosity and hard work"

María José Peláez Jaramillo

6th year - Internship (Hospital San Vicente de Paul)

María José in her own words:

“I’m from Manizales, where I graduated from Colegio Granadino. ´Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing´-  Muhammad Ali".

Natalia Valencia

6th year - Internship (Hospital San Vicente de Paul)

Natalia in her own words:

Discipline is the path to success, in order to achieve both one must learn to listen. “What they hope, what they expect, what they deserve, is that we take the time to listen, because the act of listening is therapeutic in itself. When we do it right, we learn details that make us better doctors for the next patient ... All well and good, I tell them, but don’t forget to listen.” - Allan H. Ropper

Paula Valentina Gaete Carrillo

5th year

Paula in her own words:
"According to J.-P. Sartre, man invents himself, conceives his own "essence", that is, he conceives what is in essence, even what should or should be. That we do not invent the meaning of our life, we discover it. He who has a why to live, can bear almost any how. "Viktor Frankl

Pedro Quiroga

Happiness? To live close to loved ones and a life full of medicine, science, dreams and passions (I'm passionate about astronomy, coffee, literature and traveling). How to live? Live in search of happiness; with passion, kindness and ferocity. "I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul" Invictus, William Ernest Henley

Sebastian Gutierrez

“I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success… Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.”

Daniela Duarte Montero

4th year

Daniela in her own words:

I decided on medicine because I want to help those in vulnerability, anguish and need. Being Health indispensable and one of the most precious goods of the human being, I consider it a good target for my mission. Remembering the words of Max Planck "Between God and science we never find a contradiction. They are not excluded, as some people think today, they complement and condition each other ". I aspire to practice medicine with the love that God teaches and in the light of science.
